Benjamin Harper Leaves Amber Pacific For Takeover

December 19, 2006 By Jamie Pham 3 Comments

Takeover Records owner Benjamin Harper recently confirmed his departure from the Hopeless Records pop-punk act Amber Pacific, whom he had been playing guitar with since August. Citing a need to focus his attention on Takeover as reasoning, Harper made clear that his leaving had nothing to do with the band itself. â┚¬Ã…”Amber Pacific are a bunch of great guys, but after writing with them in Seattle, I felt I needed to rethink my position in life.â┚¬?

With a move thatâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢s reminiscent of his exit from Yellowcard last year, Harper is currently focused on bringing Takeover Records to the top. Though the guitarist has received an offer to play in a band you may have â┚¬Ã…”never heard of,â┚¬? heâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢s not confirming his membership just yet.

Amber Pacific Update

October 12, 2006 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

Amber Pacific has left us with an update. You can read their message below.

Hey,

So it feels like awhile since we’ve posted any real noteworthy news. So here is a big update:

First and foremost we want to thank all the bands we just finished touring with. Just Surrender, The Audition, Sherwood, This Day & Age, All Time Low, & of course Over It. These bands are not only composed of awesome guys, but their music is also incredible; which made getting a chance to tour with them all the more enjoyable. If you haven’t listened to all these bands yet, you are missing out on great music! Also, we want to thank Jason from Absolute Punk & Josh from Purevolume for supporting and sponsoring the tour. Thanks to all of you who were able to make it out and make the tour incredible.

Second, after going about a year without a formal replacement for our old guitarist, we are proud to formally announce Ben Harper (president of Takeover Records and former founding member of Yellowcard) is now officially a member of Amber Pacific. He will now be a permanent fixture on the road, and will also be recording our new album with us up here in Seattle. We couldn’t be more excited to have him in the band.

Third, as our banner, our splash page on our website, and general buzz has left you to conclude: after this Sunday, we will be heading into the studio in Seattle with an incredible producer for a little over 2 months to record our follow up to The Possibility and the Promise. We have tons of demos, and have no doubt that this album will blow our current album out of the water as it’s been 2 years since we wrote The P&P. Get excited, this is the album we’ve been waiting to record since we started this band!

If you haven’t checked out “24 hrs. w/ Amber Pacific” from our last tour… then click here: http://stimtv.com/stim/tv/link/4600

Oh, and we will be playing Bamboozle Left this Sunday the 15th from 5:20-5:50 on the “Elmo Says” stage. Sorry for bamboozle’s site saying the “15th”… we do our best to keep you informed… but we can’t control communication from other sources. Going forward, if it is on our website or our Myspace, it is correct no matter what the other sites say!

We love you all and appreciate your support more than you will ever know. Stay tuned to our Myspace and website for more news. We will be releasing tons of content from our studio time starting in late November and it is definately stuff you don’t want to miss.
