Takeover Records owner Benjamin Harper recently confirmed his departure from the Hopeless Records pop-punk act Amber Pacific, whom he had been playing guitar with since August. Citing a need to focus his attention on Takeover as reasoning, Harper made clear that his leaving had nothing to do with the band itself. “Amber Pacific are a bunch of great guys, but after writing with them in Seattle, I felt I needed to rethink my position in life.�

With a move that’s reminiscent of his exit from Yellowcard last year, Harper is currently focused on bringing Takeover Records to the top. Though the guitarist has received an offer to play in a band you may have “never heard of,� he’s not confirming his membership just yet.
