The Used, Straylight Run, Army Of Me and the Street Drum Corps will join forces for the inaugural Rockstar Energy Drink Get a Life Tour, which will visit 25 U.S. college campuses, beginning April 2 at the NMSU Recreation Center in Las Cruces, N.M.

A full itinerary of colleges and venues will be announced shortly, but general admission tickets for the tour will cost between $20 and $25, with discounts available to students in certain markets. Ticket on-sale dates have not yet been announced.

On February 19th, The Used will release “Shallow Believer” an extended EP on all digital music stores. The artwork can be seen here. It is called an extended EP because it contains 10 tracks.

Samsung Mobile has launched a virtual battle of the bands where bands will compete for a spot on the Rockstar Get a Life Tour with headliners The Used and Straylight Run on College Campuses Nationwide. Details for the contest can be read below.

Army of Me just confirmed a Fall 2007 tour with The Used, and will be touring with Dave Matthews Band throughout August. See below for full list of tour dates.

Another huge step for the band is that they have just been accepted into Yahoo Music’s “Who’s Next” program. This prestigious online competition has Army of Me facing off against their nemesis in name Tiger Army, as well as Tokyo Police Club, and A Fine Frenzy.

Bert McCracken has just been advised to undergo surgery due to the fact that he has developed a node on one of his vocal chords. Consequently, the band has been forced to cancel their shows on all upcoming dates during June and July, including the Van’s Warped Tour. Doctors have recommended treatment as well as rest without singing and are expecting a full recovery. He will be able to sing again in about five weeks.
