Alkaline Trio and Nike have teamed up for special shoe designed by the band. The Heart and Sole Air Zoom Cush and a limited run of messenger bags will be released June 27th exclusively at Jacks Retail Shop in Huntington Beach. Alkaline Trio recently kicked off their summer tour in support of their new album Agony and Irony and the release of the shoe. The Heart and Sole Air Zoom Cush will be available at select retailers nationwide on July 11th.

The Zumiez Couch Tour 2008 features skateboarding demos by pros Eric Koston, Andrew Reynolds, Erik Ellington, Mark Appleyard, Darrell Stanton, and many more. The Zumiez Couch Tour 2008 also offers free live music performances by bands including Alkaline Trio, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Bayside, Year Long Disaster, and Jamie Lynn’s band Kandi Coded.

The tour hits 12 cities with skate demos from Baker, C1RCA, Element, Enjoi, Flip, Lakai and Volcom. Admission to tour stops is free and includes prizes and giveaways from Zumiez Couch Tour 2008 promotional partners TransWorld Skateboarding, New Era, and Boosted/Boost Mobile, a youth lifestyle brand that offers premium pre-paid wireless phones and services. The events also feature skate team autograph signings, an interactive festival area, space food, killer clowns, and more.

I had heard that Alkaline Trio was going to play at the The Catalyst in Santa Cruz and that it was going to be a big deal, because they hadn’t played in a while? I think that’s how it was. I didn’t know because I wasn’t a fan, although I do enjoy their music from their earlier releases. For a month I kept hearing ‘This person got tickets”, “Are you going to see Alkaline Trio?”, and “Oh no its sold out”. I’m sure it was exciting since the label they were first on and their first couple of CD’s came out on is near Santa Cruz, so that was cool. Finally the week of the show came, I had overdosed myself with their music and vinyl that I was over them, but my boss was like “If you want to go I can get you in”. The words “I can get you in” got me, so I was like “Sure”.

Alkaline Trio has posted a new song titled “Fire Down Below” on their Myspace page. The song appears on the upcoming Warped Tour ‘07 compilation.
