Punk Goes Classic Rock Set For April Release

Punk Goes Classic Rock, the 9th release in the “Punk Goes” compilations series is set for release on April 27th, 2010. The complication will feature a selection of the best up-and-coming alternative rock bands doing their own cover versions of classic tracks by such bands as Journey, Queen, KISS, Def Leppard, The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Blue Oyster Cult. Allstar Weekend Post “A Different Side Of Me” Video; Ready New Album

Allstar Weekend have just premiered their new video for “A Different Side Of Me” which can be seen below. The track will be on the bands debut album due out this summer on Hollywood Records.

Allstar Weekend were discovered by the founders of Drive-Thru Records, and they are currently in the studio with the likes of Howard Benson (The All-American Rejects, Kelly Clarkson), Eddie Galan (Colby O’Donis, Mitchel Musso), Charlotte Caffey (The Go-Go’s), John Feldmann (Goldfinger, The Veronicas), and Dave Bassett (Marie Digby, Shinedown).

Thrice Announce Co-Headlining Tour With Manchester Orchestra

Thrice are preparing to hit the road for three weeks this Spring on a co-headlining trek with Manchester Orchestra.  The month-long tour supports Thrice’s recent album Beggars (09/09, Vagrant) and will commence with two nights in Manchester Orchestra’s hometown of Atlanta, GA before wrapping through the country.  The tour concludes in Albuquerque, NM on May 9, with O’Brother supporting both bands on all dates.  Thrice continues to work with Invisible Children, the charity working to raise awareness about the war in northern Uganda, and will have advocates out on the road this Spring.

Vocalist Dustin Kensrue shares his excitement about the upcoming trek by saying, “We’ve only gotten to hang out [with Manchester Orchestra] in passing, so we’re excited to get out on the road with them. They’re a great band and one of the few out there that I feel an affinity with in more ways than one.”

Motion City Soundtrack Live From New York City: Updated

MTV.com is airing a special sneak peak of Motion City Soundtrack‘s concert at NYC’s The Fillmore at Irving Plaza on February 3rd! Tomorrow, MTV.com will air the concert in full, but for now you can check out Motion City Soundtrack’s live performance of “Disappear” off their major label debut My Dinosaur Life here.

Circa Survice Announce New Album; Stream New Song

Circa Survive has announced the upcoming release of their new album, Blue Sky Noise, due out April 20th.

The band has posted a new track titled “Get Out” on their website. You can also get the track by pre-ordering Blue Sky Noise here, which will also get you a digital copy of the album one week before its April 20th street date. Other bonuses include exclusive band merchandise and limited edition items.

To celebrate the release of Blue Sky Noise, Circa Survive will be heading on cross-country trek supporting Coheed & Cambria. The tour will kick off in Charlotte, NC at The Fillmore Charlotte on April 22nd and continue through a finale in Washington, DC at the 9:30 Club on May 27th (dates below) ““ tickets go on sale this Saturday, February 20.

The tour with Coheed & Cambria follows a run of shows in March that include a number of headlining dates, marquee performances at the annual South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX, topping the bill at The Hoodwink in Anaheim, CA, and a featured slot at The Bamboozle West.
