Swimming With Dolphins Stream New Song

April 19, 2011 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

Swimming With Dolphins

Swimming With Dolphins will release their debut album, Water Colours, on May 17 via Tooth & Nail. The ambient synth-pop singer/songwriter, Austin Tofte, formally of Owl City, is currently on tour with Family Force 5 in support of the compelling disc, which was greatly inspired by the ocean and fond childhood memories of America’s largest lakes. The album’s first single, “Sleep To Dream,” will be digitally released April 26 and is available to stream at on the band’s Facebook page, today.

Produced by Aaron Sprinkle (Anberlin, The Almost) and Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount (Cartel, Mayday Parade), Water Colours expands upon Tofte’s contemporary synth-pop, which he previously explored on 2008’s Ambient Blue EP, boasting heartfelt lyrics and a vibrant sonic palette. The disc represents two-plus years of songwriting by Tofte and has a deeply organic, human feel. Check out the bands upcoming tour dates below along with the album for for Water Colours. Taking Back Sunday have set June 28th as the release date for their new self-titled album. The self-titled release marks a return to the band’s original line-up from their 2002 debut Tell All Your Friends: vocalist Adam Lazzara, guitarist Eddie Reyes and drummer Mark O’Connell have reunited with vocalist/guitarist John Nolan and bass player Shaun Cooper, who departed in 2003. Tell All Your Friends has sold over one million records worldwide, spawned breakthrough anthem “Cute without the ‘E’ (Cut from the Team)” and launched the band as one of the most influential of its generation.

August Burns Red Set Release Date For New Album

April 7, 2011 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

August Burns Red are set to release their new album, Leveler,  on June 21st. For Leveler, August Burns Red re-teamed with super producer Jason Suecof, the man behind the board on their 2009 breakout, Constellations. The result is an album that pushes the band’s sonic boundaries in every direction, and yet is an unquestionably heavier album than its predecessor.

“Putting out a fourth record is a little scary because we obviously have our sound figured out at this point, but we don’t want to put out a record that just sounds like a redux of our previous albums,” explains guitarist JB Brubaker. “Our tastes are always evolving as musicians and we’ve been motivated to progress as a band and push ABR in different directions, while maintaining the characteristics that made us the band we are in the first place.”
