“We chose “Tennessee” by Arrested Development because some of us grew listening to this record. He sang about important issues dealing with racism, poverty and many other political topics. Instead of just recording a guilty pleasure rap/pop song we decided to do something we were more passionate about.”

This album will showcase popular alternative/punk/emo bands playing urban classics from Hip Hop legends like 2PAC, Notorious BIG, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre. Providence, RI’s original alt. rock station, 95.5 WBRU, is bringing The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Madina Lake and Lorene Drive to Providence as part of their Cheap Date Series. WBRU is putting local band Astrea (Franklin, MA) on the bill to expose them to a larger audience and give back to the local music community. The show hits Lupo’s on Thursday, November 9th and only costs $9.95 in advance, $12 day of show. Tickets can be purchased here.
