Terrible Things Set Release Date; Fall Tour With Mae

July 14, 2010 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

Terrible Things have set August 31st as the release date for their debut self-titled album. Terrible Things is Fred Mascherino (ex-Taking Back Sunday) Josh Eppard (Coheed & Cambria) and Andy Jackson (Hot Rod Circuit). Their self-titled major label debut was produced and mixed by Jason Elgin (Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster, Collective Soul) and mastered by Roger Lian (Bayside, Coheed & Cambria).

“The album cover is metaphoric to what was going on in my town last year and it was actually pretty emotional for me watching that house go up in flames,” Fred says of the image of his two children having a tea party while a nearby dollhouse is engulfed in flames.

Terrible Things is both a concept record as well as a fascinating and powerful rock debut. “It was great working with Jason [Elgin, producer],” continues Fred. “He’s been making records for a long time and understood that this band couldn’t just be put through a recording factory. We made this record the old-fashioned way. It wasn’t about fixing the song in mixing. It was about playing it right from the very beginning.” With songs like the propulsive “Revolution,” the surging bittersweet ballad “Lullaby” to the soberingly soaring “Hills of Birmingham”, the album is the sound of a band who’s combined the best of their storied pasts and fine-tuned it into one big powerful debut. “I think Andy and Josh would agree that this is the best record any of us have ever been a part of,” he concludes.

The band will be hitting the Warped Tour before setting out on a fall tour with Mae. Check out the tour dates below.

Coheed & Cambria Cause Stir At University of Kansas

October 24, 2007 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

Coheed & Cambria caused quite the commotion at the University of Kansas this week. Following a number of dorm windows being shot out a set of cryptic symbols were found spray painted throughout the campus with the date “10/23/07” underneath it.  Rumors began to spread on the University’s campus that another shooting was coming on Tuesday (10/23/07). The campus police were swamped with phone calls and questions about the impending violence. Fortunately, the graffiti symbols popping up all over campus were to promote Coheed & Cambria’s release of their latest album No World For Tomorrow. The police eventually ruled out anything else as pure coincidence.
