Run Kid Run Update

January 13, 2008 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

Run Kid Run are currently finishing up their sophomore album and have left an update on their MySpace page. You can read the message below.

hey friends…so were back in fl after a break we all had a great christmas and we hope you did as well. Me and Neil got back here a couple of days ago to finish up everything and it’s been going great. Things are coming along nicely all lead vocals and electric guitars are done and now were working on piano, acoustic, background vocals etc. all the fun things. It looks like were going to be finishing tracking on the 22nd and then we go home and then james will start the mixing. Which is definitely a process in itself.
So when we get home we start preparing for tour which starts at the end of feb. were going out with our buddies in hawk nelson for like 3 months or something ridiculous like that….should be fun. I think the dates might already be up on there page they’ll be up really soon on ours. We can’t wait, we haven’t been on a tour in quite a while and this one’s going to be good, to hit the road and play new stuff it has been way too long for this band. Anyways i hope these are somewhat interesting i think i mentioned it before but the release were shooting for is late arpil and the title looks like it’s going to be “love at the core”. So were more than excited to let you guys hear what we’ve been working on. We hope you like it as much as we do.
a topic just as important if not more LOST starts very soon kiddies so you better catch up if your not. we’ve been watching season 3 to remind ourselves of what’s been happening. So excited for it. ok enough rambling i’ll put up a few more pics with this.
have a great day friends.
neil, paul, matt and david

p.s. our friends band alliswell put up new songs on there page go check em out goode guys goode band there on our top friends

Run Kid Run – This Is Who We Are

May 10, 2006 By Bryce Jacobson 1 Comment

Run Kid Run

Artist: Run Kid Run
Album: This Is Who We Are
Label: Tooth & Nail
Purchase: Smart Punk
Release Date: May 16, 2006

Overall: 8.2
Music: 8.1
Lyrics: 8.5
Production: 8.6

Run Kid Run are one of Tooth & Nail’s newest bands, or are they? Previously known as Side Walk Slam, Run Kid Run is a re-branding effort by Tooth & Nail to gain some more fans. Previous fans will only notice a bit of a change in the bands sound from their previous albums like …And We Drive which they put out in 2003. A forth member on guitar allows the band to offer more of a precise sound with more second guitar parts and hooks. Also a major change in song lengths is also accomplished while moving up from a mir 2 minute average to well over a 3 minuet average per song. The album also has more of a polished sound and the songs come off being quite upbeat and poppy.

The bands first single “We’ve Only Just Begun” also opens the album with a catchy guitar rhythm. The vocals are clear and very catchy to sing along with. Songs like “Sing To Me” have a lot of good things behind them are catchy enough for even radio play. Finishing up this shot 10 song album is “I’ll Forever Sing” which is filled with a lot of good hooks great lyrics.

The band has matured from their previous albums that they put out under the name Side Walk Slam. They will also hopefully get the backing they deserve this time around. Old fans may be a little let down by their change of sound but the band still backs a good message and catchy music, it’s what they’re good at.
