Paramore will be doing a live stream on MTV.com tomorrow Friday, January 7, at 4 p.m. ET in a past and future show titled “Paramore: The Last Word.” The band who recently lost two of its founding members will talk about a recent “Exit Statement” by Josh Farro. Check out a video preview of the interview below.
“There’s been a lot of things said online, especially in the past week, and it sucks … it sucks to read it, and it also sucks to know that responding isn’t really going to help, online, because things travel so terribly on the Internet,” Williams said. “So we really wanted the opportunity to show our fans that we’re OK, you know? The three of us are still here, we’re not going anywhere. A lot of kids are still asking if the band is breaking up, and that just goes to show how broken the communication online can be, when rumors start traveling. So this is our way of showing that there’s a future and we’re stoked for it.”
A couple of months ago, Josh and Zac let us know they would be leaving the band after our show in Orlando last Sunday. None of us were really shocked. For the last year it hasn’t seemed as if they wanted to be around anymore. We want Josh and Zac to do something that makes them happy and if that isn’t here with us, then we support them finding happiness elsewhere.
More of the announcement is available at the link. Yesterday however, Josh and Zac released their own statement on their departure that goes a little more in depth about the history of the band. Check it out here and let us know your thoughts. Is Paramore set for failure or a much needed reboot?
Paramore‘s recent performance on the MTV Video Music Awards can be seen below. Also in the video is Hayley Williams performing “Airplanes” with B.o.B. Paramore starts at 2:40 in the video after “Airplanes.”
