After 15 years as a band and playing shows, the Huxtables are releasing their first album on Asian Man Records. Featuring members of Slow Gherkin, the bands debut album “We Have Heads” will be on sale for $5 for the next 30 days on Asian Man. The Huxtables have uploaded some of their tracks onto their Myspace.
Mike Park and the great folks over at Asian Man Records are offering a Haiti Relief package for $30. The package will include 5 cd’s from artists Andrew Jackson Jihad, Lemuria, Bomb the Music Industry!, Kepi Ghoulie and O Pioneers. Included with the discs will also be a Plea For Peace t-shirt. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Partners in Health, an organization that provides medical care in poor communities.
Asian Man Records have hand screened and numbered 500 cards for this holiday season, and it also includes a CD with six songs featuring Mike Park, Andrew Jackson Jihad and other AMR artists . The card itself is 5″x5″, blank inside, and comes with a white envelope. The text on the CD says “Happy Holidays from Asian Man Records!” Original artwork by Kepi Ghoulie.
This weekend Asian Man Records and their non-profit, Plea for Peace, will be hosting a food drive on Friday at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco as Classics of Love and Toys That Kill take the stage. Free stuff will be given to those that donate a non-perishable food item. Then on Saturday, Asian Man are putting on a FREE show in the parking lot of the Oakland Coliseum. Free food, drinks and live music! Starts at 4pm.
The Riverdales are offering a pre-order deal through Asian Man Records, which will include all three vinyl LP colors (red, white, and blue), a CD copy of the album, an Invasion U.S.A t-shirt, three buttons (red, white, and blue), and a beer koozie; all for $38. The Asian Man Records 2008 tour “Making Punk Fun Again” has been announced and the dates have been posted on Asian Man Records’ website. The bands playing on the tour include The Queers, Lemuria, Bomb the Music Industry, Andrew Jackson Jihad, and Kepi Ghoulie.
