Amber Pacific Post Update

June 17, 2008 By Bryce Jacobson 1 Comment

Amber Pacific has posted a big update about their current status, new singer, and future plans. Check it out below.

Hi all,

So we’ve definitely been M.I.A. since around December of last year and we would just like to clear up a lot of what’s been going on in the world of Amber Pacific.

Label:

We know a lot of you are under the assumption that our former label Hopeless Records dropped us; this is not the case. We signed a deal with them in 2004 that was for 3 records which consisted of 1 EP and 2 LP’s. We have finished our end of the deal with them and have decided to part ways to pursue other label opportunities, were appreciative of everything they’ve done for us and I’m sure they appreciate us bringing All Time Low to them, ha! I only bring that up because I saw someone post something about us being jealous of where they are right now, this is also not true, we are entirely supportive of that band and it’s been a trip to see how far they’ve come in the amount of time it’s taken them to get there and we couldn’t be more happy for them, keep it up you sexy skinny jeaned, long haired, hoodie wearin’ dudes.

Singer:

We would like to send out a huge thank you to everyone who submitted something for this spot, we received hundreds of emails and to get that kind of a response really was special for us. As some of you may know we think we’ve found someone with a special talent, a huge range, and someone who just might be skinnier than our wonderful bass player Greg. At any rate, we have big plans for this new voice and plan to reveal much more in the coming weeks, again from the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who tried out.

New Tunes:

Sitting at home since December has given us a lot of time to really focus our efforts on writing the best 10 or 12 songs we want you all to hear. We will continue working on this in the coming weeks but are also planning to have some new demo’s for you all very very soon so please stay tuned.

Myspace:

How could we pass up not talking about myspace right? Well here’s the deal, we have certainly neglected the page for the past couple months but with good reason. For some strange reason our friends number seems to be stuck right around 135,000 refusing to move up or down from that number yet we add several hundred people a day. We are working vigorously to fix this problem but in the mean time we plan on having a new look to the page that will include blogs, vlogs, and new pics of what our band is looking like these days so again, keep an eye out for those changes very very soon.

Tours:

We are currently looking for anything that is going out in August on. We have been strangers to the road for far too long, in fact, this has been the longest we’ve been home in 4 years and we are damn near crazy. One can only play so much Halo before realizing their lives consist of music and the road so please if you are a band reading this and are looking for support, please feel free to reach out to us, we would love to hit the road for the rest of our lives.

Future Plans:

We definitely plan on being out on the road as much as possible as soon as we find a new label. I’m sure we will have enough songs to record a new record by the end of the year and hopefully will be able to put it out early 2009. Our eyes are set on making a career out of this and we really appreciate the continued support through a very tough time. We’ve met so many great people along the way and you all are the reason why we want to keep this going. Make sure to get out their and support as many bands as you can, as you all know gas prices are through the roof and it is making it extremely hard to stay out on the road for a lot of bands so go say hi. Thanks again for everything and you’ll be hearing more from us soon, thanks!

Vocalist Leaves Amber Pacific

February 26, 2008 By Bryce Jacobson 1 Comment

Matt Young, vocalist for Amber Pacific, has decided to leave the band and pursue other ventures. You can read a message about him leaving the band here. The band has also posted a response which you can read below.

Hello, we would like to say that we fully support Matt’s decision to pursue other opportunities that this life has to offer and wish him the best with whatever road he decides to take. However, we also would like everyone to know that we have every intention of continuing on as Amber Pacific and have been writing and working on new material during this time off. We are excited about what the future may bring with new songs and obviously a new singer. We hope that this news does not push you away from our music in any way and hope that with a new voice we will be able to reach new fans and possibly even old fans who have grown tired of us coming to your city every other month because we certainly did our fair share of that. We will be releasing more information regarding the process of finding a new singer in the coming days and look forward to seeing you all again. Thank you for your love and support, we appreciate it more than you know.

-Amber Pacific
PS — Matt will be with us on all upcoming shows we have booked and we will be posting these shows soon, please come out to show your support for him, thanks! Â

Amber Pacific – Truth In Sincerity

May 22, 2007 By Andrea Hubbell 1 Comment

Amber Pacific

Artist: Amber Pacific
Album: Truth In Sincerity
Label: Hopeless Records
Purchase: Smart Punk
Release Date: May 22nd, 2007

Overall: 8.5
Music: 8.0
Lyrics: 9.0
Production: 9.5

For those of you anticipating Amber Pacific’s new album “Truth in Sincerity” to be a complete evolution from their first full-length album, “The Possibility in the Promise”, you will be disappointed. However, for those of you that are fans of Amber Pacific’s original style, you will be thrilled with their latest album. Amber Pacific, consisting of Matt Young, Greg Strong, “Dango”, and Will Nutter, can be described as one of those bands that is distinguished in great part by the sound of their vocalist’s voice. Matt Young has a deep, sorrowful voice that can easily convey the emotions that their music typically expresses: love, heartbreak, and anguish. The quality and sound of his vocals hasn’t changed within the new album. The band’s generally romance-related song messages are also disclosed through their creative, sentimental lyrics; the topics their music touches on have also not changed very much throughout this album.

Nor has the general sound of their music changed too much. It is heavily guitar-incorporated and has a hopeful sound that appeals to many. The main change that Amber Pacific has made in their music within the new album is the speed of their songs. Many songs in the new album have a quicker pace. I personally enjoyed the sound of the new album, but was somewhat disappointed to not see many changes in their music, although I am a fan of “The Possibility and the Promise”. Being a fan of their previous full-length album, I was excited to see that the CD’s bonus tracks were, in fact, acoustic versions of two songs from “The Possibility and the Promise”-“Always You (Good Times)” and “For What It’s Worth”. Throughout these numbers, Matt Young’s voice sounds very raw and natural-suggesting that he is a naturally talented vocalist.

So, all in all, I recommend Amber Pacific’s latest album to fans that wouldn’t mind and might in fact enjoy hearing something very similar to their last album. For those of you that haven’t had the pleasure of listening to Amber Pacific prior to now, I also recommend the albums to those of you interested in a rock band with a somewhat mellow sound.

Track List
1. Rule #76
2. Summer (In B)
3. Temporary
4. Youre Only Young Once
5. Living Proof
6. Follow Your Dreams
7. Take Me From This
8. Fall Back Into My Life
9. We Think Were Hardcore, Cause, Well, We Are
10. Runaway (Featuring Mike Herrera Of Mxpx)
11. Watching Over Me
12. Dear ____, This Has Always Been About Standing Up For Yourself
