A Thorn For Every Heart Finish EP

April 11, 2008 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

A Thorn For Every Heart have finished recording their new EP. You can check out a full update from the band below.

Ok everyone I know it has been a while since we have posted anything about the EP or us or anything….. But I am finally happy to say that Kelvin and the boys finished the vocals for the last song yesterday!! Everything so far sounds amazing, and we have never been more proud of a collection of songs as we are of these. They really reflect what our band has been through over the past year, musically and especially lyrically. We hope you love them as much as we do, if not more!!

Justin should be finished mixing the EP come this Wednesday!! He already has done a few rough mixes of a couple songs so it shouldn’t take long. I can also say I am very proud of Justin, and his ability to make this EP sound so big and soooo spectacular!! To think that it is going to sound better than what I have heard so far gives me goose bumps!!!

Oh and the art is almost done!!

Here is a temporary track listing. Some of the song titles might change. Might.

1. Pick Up The Pieces
2. Bitter Party Of One
3. Better Than Me, Better Than Love
4. Born To Bleed
5. Light This Fire

On some other notes…..

We have a couple of shows coming up in the next month, and we will be introducing these new tunes into our set, so make sure you get your butts out to the shows. This way you can get a peek at what will be on the EP. The shows are listed on our myspace. It has been a while since we have played, and I know myself and Casey (the 2 new boys) want to see all the ATFEH love we have heard so much about!! So bring it!!

We also plan on getting some new merch made soon, and we want to know what our fans would like to see. Whether it is T shirt designs, or belt buckles, or hoodies, or fanny packs….. etc. What kind of stuff do you wanna rep for us??? The crazier the ideas the better!!

Well I think that is it for now…. We love you all and we can’t wait to get this music to you…. We know everyone has been waiting a long time, but I am certain that it will be well worth the wait!!

Love,
Thor

A Thorn For Every Heart Update

November 27, 2007 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

A Thorn For Every Heart have posted an update stating they have changed their drummer and guitar player as well as  been dropped from their label Kickball, which is currently being discontinued. The bands most recent album, It’s Hard To Move You, which was suppose to be released earlier this year may not see the light of day if the band doesn’t get the rights to it. The band is currently writing and recording and have a new demo titled “Pick Up The Pieces” up on their MySpace page. You can read the full update from the band below.

Hey Everyone,

This update is long overdue and we apologize for not letting everyone know what’s going on sooner.  The truth is we’ve been waiting to have some definite answers ourselves before posting anything.  So here’s what’s going on:

We are very excited to announce the new A Thorn For Every Heart line up and welcome Casey Hill and Matt Thorsen to our band!  The new line up is:

Kelvin Cruz — Vocals
Casey Hill — Guitar/Vocals
Phil Nguyen — Guitar/Vocals
Justin Powell — Bass
Matt Thorsen — Drums

Jeff Harber and Tyler Mahurin are no longer a part of the band.  Jeff is starting a new project called A Is For Atlantis.  Look for a January 08 release from them.  Tyler is now playing drums with A Static Lullaby.

As far as “It’s Hard To Move You” goes.. We are no longer signed to Kickball/Interscope.  They have basically decided to discontinue Kickball and have dropped us and the other band signed with the label.  We are waiting to find out if we will be able to get the rights to the recordings or not.  So as far as the record goes we have no idea right now if and or when it may be released.  We apologize to everyone that has been waiting patiently for the release.  It’s all a very frustrating situation that has been completely out of our control.

In the mean time we have started the writing process for our next record.  We’ve posted a brand new demo titled “Pick Up The Pieces” written and recorded with our new line up.  Check it out and let us know what you think.
