The Last Goodnight Album Details, Tour Dates

This week marks the release of, Poison Kiss, the debut album from The Last Goodnight. The band’s slinky grooves have been compared to Maroon 5 while the pop-rock songwriting smarts of lead singer Kurtis John brings to mind Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty. The band was signed by A&R heavyweight Jeff Blue who is also credited with the discovery of Linkin Park and Macy Gray among others. The music industry veteran championed their hook laden songs and went on to executive produce Poison Kiss which also features co-production work from Limp Bizkit’s DJ Lethal. The songs on the album run the stylistic gamut from R&B tinged rock to fragile ballads. Their debut single and video, “Pictures of You” has been embraced by Vh1 and even won MTV’s Battle of the Videos contest earlier this month. The song has also been included in the new season of Mtv’s hit show The Hills and was chosen by ABC in the commercial campaign for their hit drama Brothers and Sisters. The band has been touring the states with Rocco DeLuca & The Burden and is going to join American Idol’s Elliot Yamin on a co-headlining run in October.

Against Me! have released the Thrash Unreal EP on iTunes. The EP features the video for the band’s current single “Thrash Unreal” and completely new acoustic versions of “New Wave” and “Animal.” You can get the EP here.

As part of the celebrations for MySpace Australia’s 1st Birthday this month, MySpace Secret Shows is proud to present a very special performance by two of Australia’s biggest rock bands — Powderfinger & Silverchair!

This will be the first chance for anyone to check out both bands as they begin their huge ‘Across The Great Divide’ tour which will weave its way around Australia and New Zealand over the next 9 weeks.

The only way MySpace users can find out specific details about this event is by adding Secret Shows as a Friend to their profile via www.myspace.com/secretshowsau.

PLEASE NOTE: Entry to this event will only be given to those who have a wristband. Wristbands will be available from a secret central Newcastle location on Wednesday 29th August — details to be revealed via a MySpace Bulletin at 8am on the morning of Wednesday 29th August for the MySpace Secret Show performance later that day.

Wristbands will be issued on a first-come-first-served basis and capacity is strictly limited. ONE WRIST BAND PER PERSON. A subsequent Bulletin will be sent as soon as tickets are all exhausted. Please be aware that this wristband will not entitle you to entry to Powderfinger & Silverchair’s full concert, it is for the MySpace performance only.
