Coheed recruited Taylor Hawkins from the Foo Fighters to play drums on the record, while ex-Dillinger Escape Plan drummer Chris Pennie is now a permanent fixture in the band and has taken their live shows to new heights.

A Thorn For Every Heart Update

November 27, 2007 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

A Thorn For Every Heart have posted an update stating they have changed their drummer and guitar player as well as  been dropped from their label Kickball, which is currently being discontinued. The bands most recent album, It’s Hard To Move You, which was suppose to be released earlier this year may not see the light of day if the band doesn’t get the rights to it. The band is currently writing and recording and have a new demo titled “Pick Up The Pieces” up on their MySpace page. You can read the full update from the band below.

Hey Everyone,

This update is long overdue and we apologize for not letting everyone know what’s going on sooner.  The truth is we’ve been waiting to have some definite answers ourselves before posting anything.  So here’s what’s going on:

We are very excited to announce the new A Thorn For Every Heart line up and welcome Casey Hill and Matt Thorsen to our band!  The new line up is:

Kelvin Cruz — Vocals
Casey Hill — Guitar/Vocals
Phil Nguyen — Guitar/Vocals
Justin Powell — Bass
Matt Thorsen — Drums

Jeff Harber and Tyler Mahurin are no longer a part of the band.  Jeff is starting a new project called A Is For Atlantis.  Look for a January 08 release from them.  Tyler is now playing drums with A Static Lullaby.

As far as “It’s Hard To Move You” goes.. We are no longer signed to Kickball/Interscope.  They have basically decided to discontinue Kickball and have dropped us and the other band signed with the label.  We are waiting to find out if we will be able to get the rights to the recordings or not.  So as far as the record goes we have no idea right now if and or when it may be released.  We apologize to everyone that has been waiting patiently for the release.  It’s all a very frustrating situation that has been completely out of our control.

In the mean time we have started the writing process for our next record.  We’ve posted a brand new demo titled “Pick Up The Pieces” written and recorded with our new line up.  Check it out and let us know what you think.

It turns out that Weezer has not set a release date for their sixth studio album. Albumsix.com was a hoax of viral marketing that slipped passed longer then the owners of the site expected. Rivers posted the following message on their website. You can also read more about the hoax over at albumsix.com.

Weezer and Geffen Records have no affiliation with www.albumsix.com. The new Weezer record is not called “Tout Ensemble” and there is no official release date yet for the album. – Rivers Cuomo, Weezer
