American Hi-Fi Post New Songs; New Album Details

January 10, 2008 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

American Hi-Fi has posted two new songs on their MySpace page. The band is set to finish recording their new album in February. You can read a full message from the band below.

Hey rock people, I am happy to say there is a new Hi-Fi record in the works. We are super stoked! Brian Nolan is back in the band! You might remember him from the first two records where he proceeded to pound the shit out of the drums like the demon spawn of John Bonham and Dave Grohl. The kid is solid. We are all meeting in Los Angeles in mid February to finish recording. Untill then, we are posting a couple of tunes that were just completed. This record is a return to the sound of our first album. Lots of Rock (no weird funky stuff like the last record…not sure what that was all about). It sounds a little like Elliott Smith partying with the Foo Fighters at a kegger with My Bloody Valentine and Superdrag. That’s the update for now…We are really excited and are looking forward to seeing all of you again!

Underoath To Record In March

January 9, 2008 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

Underoath will be heading to the studio in mid March to record their new record. You can get an update from the band below.

Happy New Year to everyone. So we have just begun the ole getting back together and figuring it out thing that we like to do after a little holiday break. We got some new jams a brewing in the underoath stew pot that is our new record. Tim and Aaron just got done with the drums for our demoing needs and it is sounding cool. Over the next few months we will be finishing songs and recording it all starting mid march. Nothing too cool outside of that. Were going to try and keep you all updated and what not, but lets be honest we always say that and fail miserably (just saying). Peace out!

Less Than Jake Start Record Label

January 9, 2008 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

Less Than Jake has announced Sleep It Off, their own record label where they will re-release their back catalog and new album. You can read a message from the band below.

“When you are in a pop punk band in your 16th year, sometimes you don’t fit in the modern music industry,” drummer Vinnie Fiorello says. “You need to be a shiny new penny. We didn’t feel like the rest of our years as a band should fit in that narrow parameter.”

The first new release on Sleep It Off will be Less Than Jake’s ninth studio album to date, which the band will start recording in March.

“To be honest, I don’t really know what to expect,” Fiorello says. “All I do know is that we’re writing songs now and they seem to have the spirit of a tempo in mind, all very speedy but once we hit the record button they may be slower.” He admits that personally he’s looking to combine third wave ska and pop punk in each song, but that he’ll be “as surprised as everyone” when the album is complete.
