You have put some brilliant records on your list, but only one of them made my top ten. It is always hard to choose 10 when you find yourself picking from a pile of about a hundred good records, not to mention hundreds and hundreds of songs, so I have left out many equally good ones. This was a good year for metalcore/post-hardcore and screamo and there were several bands that I wanted to put on the list such as We Came As Romans, A Day To Remeber, August Burns Red, The Devil Wears Prada and Killswitch Engage, but I chose to leave them out and focus on the more mainstream rock just to narrow the pile a bit.

    Top ten albums:
    01. The Red Jumpsuite Apparatus – Long Road
    02. Making April – Egg Hunt
    03. Biffy Clyro – Only revolutions
    04. 30 Seconds To Mars – This Is war
    05. Paramore – Brand New Eyes
    06. Nural – Entitlement
    07. The Audition – Self Titled Album
    08. Taking Back Sunday – New Again
    09. Marianas Trench – Masterpiece Theatre
    10. Mayday Parade – Anywhere But Here

    Top ten songs:
    01 Angels & Airwaves – Hallucinations
02 30 Seconds To Mars – Kings and queens
03 Halestorm – Bet u wish you had me back
04 Orianthi – According to you
05 Marianas Trench – Masterpiece theatre pt 1
06 Meg & Dia – Fighting for nothing
    07 Cartel – Retrograde
08 Sick Puppies – That time of year
09 Biffy Clyro – Many of horror
10 Saosin – What we were made for
