December 26, 2010 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

Justin Pierre‘s (Motion City Soundtrack) side project, Farewell Continental, has released a new EP which you can pick up in 12″ vinyl or as a digital download here. You can also check out a video for their song “Total Devastation” below.

“This is a music video staring The Farewell Continental Group of North America. It was directed by Shane Nelson. There are lasers, strobe lights, glow sticks, and christmas tree lights involved. If you have the type of epilepsy triggered by any of the aforementioned, we suggest you look away. If not, we suggest you feast your eyes upon what is truly the greatest music video of all time. Thank you. Goodbye.” [Read more…]

Josh and Zac Leaving Paramore

December 22, 2010 By Bryce Jacobson 1 Comment

Paramore recently made an announcement about Josh and Zac leaving the band. The announcement states:

A couple of months ago, Josh and Zac let us know they would be leaving the band after our show in Orlando last Sunday. None of us were really shocked. For the last year it hasn’t seemed as if they wanted to be around anymore. We want Josh and Zac to do something that makes them happy and if that isn’t here with us, then we support them finding happiness elsewhere.

More of the announcement is available at the link. Yesterday however, Josh and Zac released their own statement on their departure that goes a little more in depth about the history of the band. Check it out here and let us know your thoughts. Is Paramore set for failure or a much needed reboot?

Finch 1999-2010

December 20, 2010 By Bryce Jacobson 3 Comments

Finch have officially announced their breakup on their website. The band has been working for years at bringing a new album to light but couldn’t come to a common goal. A message from the band can be read below. Two new songs are available from the band here.

Dear Finch fans,

Over the past two years we as a band have obsessed tirelessly trying to bring you the best record Finch has ever made. Blowing everything else out of the water was the only option. If we couldn’t drop the bomb, we wouldn’t blow it up…..

From the beginning what’s always made up the sound of Finch was our ability to take our individual influences, no matter how different, and write music together that stands on it’s own. A tense balancing act on a loose wire where we have had success crossing and also lost balance to fall and be broken. Over the past few years we have collectively gone insane trying to achieve the common goal of writing our new record. It’s become obvious to all of us that the thing that made Finch such a special band to be in, was also the key ingredient that was tearing us apart. As we get older and broaden our musical pallets, we are all on separate planets drifting further and further out of orbit. Finch is our sun, it has given us everything that we have. This year our sun imploded. Although we travel through darkness. It’s comforting to know that we are all still friends. Together floating in the unknown.

We want to thank you for your undying love and support of our band. Without you, accomplishing our wildest dreams would not have been possible. We apologize deeply for letting you down. Please forgive us and please keep listening to Finch.

Thank you for Finch.

-Finch

As a parting gift we leave to you:

2 new songs (Hail To The Fire) & (World Of Violence)
A bonus version of the 2008 self titled EP (3 extra tracks)
“A Far Cry From Home – Live in Tokyo 2009” (18 Songs)
“Bury White” Far Cover (Free download)
