Thursday Looking For Fan Footage

July 18, 2007 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

Thursday is looking for fans to submit any footage they have of the band for possible inclusion on their upcoming retrospective DVD/CD release. See the note from the band for all the details below.

Hello Friends!

We have been hard at work on our DVD/CD project and we realized we could use your help! If any of you out there has video footage of us playing live and or hanging out we’d love to see it. We might even be able to use it on the DVD. If the footage that you send in winds up getting used in the final edit, your name will appear in the credits of the dvd and we will send you an autographed copy of it.

When sending us footage, please send it on the original format or as close to it as possible. For example if the footage was shot on Mini-DV we would love to get a copy on a Mini-DV tape. Basically we need the footage to be as close to the original format as possible in order to make sure it looks the best that it can. If it’s not possible to give us a copy on the original format, we’re still interested in seeing it so send it on in.

Please print out the release form and send it in with your footage. Just a heads up, without a signed release form we cannot use your footage. Be sure to include your name, address, and email with your submissions.

Release Form: http://www.thesyn.com/thursday/Submission_Form_071307.pdf or go here.

Post mark to this address:
The Syndicate
Attn: Thursday DVD
1801 Willow Ave
Weehawken, NJ 07086

We look forward to seeing your submissions. Thanks in advance for the help.

Thursday Back On Victory Records

June 29, 2007 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

Thursday has announced that they will be releasing their new album on Victory Records, the bands previous home. You can read a message form the band below.

We have some exciting news!!! We know that everyone is wondering what is next for us (New Label? New Record? Touring? Breaking up?). We’re proud to announce that we will be releasing a DVD/CD on our former label, Victory Records. Surprise! A lot of the footage from this DVD was taken during the time we spent on Victory and we thought it was appropriate to release it with them. On a more personal note, many of you know that our parting with Victory was bitter on both sides and we’re taking this chance to put that behind us. That label really helped us get to where we are and we helped them to establish themselves as well… “coming full circle” and “making amends” are some of the phrases that we could throw around here but we think you get the picture already. Tony’s passion for this project and his continued support of the band after all these years has helped to make this an easy decision.

We’re really looking forward to this release. The DVD will be a retrospective of our band’s career so far(footage from the last nine years) with a ton of live stuff. Everyone always says we’re much better live than on record– now you can decide. The CD will have several new tracks(!) and some alternate versions and demos of older songs.

Once the DVD and CD are complete, we will be starting work on a new album soon after and the home for that has yet to be determined.

– THURSDAY

The DVD/Album package will be in stores October 30, 2007.

Thursday Cancels Tour Dates

April 3, 2007 By Bryce Jacobson 1 Comment

Thursday has canceled their upcoming tour dates to focus their time on the future of the band. You can read a message from the band below.

Friends

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will be canceling all of the current tour plans for 2007.Ԛ  This includes Give It a Name in Europe, our slot on the My Chemical Romance tour in Canada and our shows in Mexico.Ԛ  We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause and we’re disappointed that we won’t be seeing the people and places that we were looking forward to. We will be playing one of the shows we had planned, May 7 in California, PA.

We would like everyone to know that we will be devoting all of our time and energy this year to the future of our band.Ԛ  We recently got a second chance to start this band over fresh and we don’t plan on wasting that chance.Ԛ  New music. New Records. New Labels. New Energy. This is what we’ve been dreaming about.

We’ve been so lucky to be a band that people BELIEVE in.Ԛ  We will be working hard to be worthy of that belief.

Thank You,

Geoff, Tom, Steve, Andrew, Tim and Tucker– Thursday

Thursday Part Ways With Island Record

March 27, 2007 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

Thursday has parted ways with Island Records after four years and two albums. The bands statement can be found below.

We will be completing all of the touring that we have booked for the rest of the year. Then we plan to start writing for a new record. We have not decided where this new record will be released yet. Although weâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢ve had several wonderful offers already, weâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢re just enjoying our freedom for now (Weâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢ve been on one label or another since 1999). Itâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢s very exciting to have the opportunity to start again.
