Blink 182 Talk Meaning of “Neighborhoods” Album Title

July 19, 2011 By Bryce Jacobson 1 Comment

Blink 182 Honda Civic TourBlink 182 recently announced the title of their new album, Neighborhoods, and now they are letting us know the meaning behind it.

“As Blink-182 reformed, we came to realize that, as close as Travis [Barker], Tom [DeLonge] and I are, we are all very different people. With very different tastes. Travis just released a hip-hop album, Tom always talks about U2, Coldplay and the Police, and I listen to obscure indie rock stuff,” Hoppus wrote. “We each bring a very different aesthetic, talent and sound to the band. And in the differences between our ideas, the struggle and edge of all the different directions, is where the good things happen when we write together.”

Check out the full article here and be sure to catch Blink 182 on the 2011 Honda Civic Tour with My Chemical Romance. New Blink 182 Album By Summer?

April 4, 2011 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

According to a recent interview with RockSound Magazine, Tom Delonge stated that Blink 182 would not tour until they have a new album out. Blink 182 will be touring Europe in July so does that mean we will see a new album this summer? One can only hope! Let us know your thoughts in the comments. View Delonge’s statement from the interview below.

“We will not tour if there is no new record,” he said boldly in a recent issue. “The goal is to finish and squeeze it out at the very last minute so people have the new songs in time for the dates. The album will be great, I promise you that, I think it’s gonna be what everyone wants it to be; it will be fun and full of attitude but the songs are super relevant and giant sounding. Think Blink but stadium rock.”

Blink 182 To Release Album This Summer

February 17, 2011 By Haley Dorn Leave a Comment

Blink 182

Travis Barker of Blink 182 has taken it to his personal Twitter account to reveal that the long-awaited Blink 182 album is set to be out this summer.  He tweeted, “For those of you asking GIVE THE DRUMMER SOME is out March 15th and BLINK album is out THIS SUMMER!”

Give The Drummer Some is Barker’s solo record, featuring tracks with Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, B.o.B. and more, which was previously set to be released in late 2010.

Earlier this week, Barker talked to MTV implying a summer release date for Blink 182, “I think we’ll turn in our album in June or July, honestly, and I mean the stuff’s awesome. It’s coming close, to the point where these are completed songs and they’re not going to change.  These are album versions.”
