RIAA To Kill Internet Radio?

March 16, 2007 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

The RIAA’s new royalty rates for internet radio could possibly put an end to internet radio as we know it. Pandora, one of the best places to stream music and find new artists, is in jeopardy just like many other stations. Read their blog post about the matter here and also check out their latest post here which includes some links to petitions put together by a collection of webcasters.

Bassist Leaves The Spill Canvas

March 14, 2007 By Bryce Jacobson 1 Comment

Scott McGuire, bassist for The Spill Canvas, has left the band. You can read his message below.

Oh, where to begin. There’s no way to go about it other than to just say it. The Spill Canvas has decided in order to make music to its fullest potential they must do so with out me. The past three years of my life have been absolutely remarkable. The experiences Iâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢ve had, places Iâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢ve seen, and people Iâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢ve met all exceeded any expectation that I could have ever imagined. I wouldnâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢t trade any of it for the world. Playing music and traveling has always been my all time dream ever since I was just a little kid. And to have had the opportunity to do so on the level I did has been a dream come true.

To Nick, Joe and Dan: Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being my closest family over the past three years. You guys are amazingly talented musicians and deserve nothing but the best. I love you guys. Good luck.

To the all-star management, booking, legal and label team: you will take this band to heights that people never thought possible. I feel privileged to have met you all and had the opportunity to work with you. Thank you so much and good luck in the future.

To all the TSC fans: thank you as well for showing your love and support in ways I never knew existed. You are the best fans any band could ever dream of having. Please continue to support TSC in any way you possibly can.

To all my friends and family: thank you for backing me in my decision to chase my dream relentlessly. Without your support, thereâ┚¬Ã¢”ž¢s no way I could have achieved anything. I love you. I would like to say that this is not the end for me. The Spill Canvas has been my every breath for three years and it will certainly be a hard adjustment to not be a part of it anymore. But I will take the experiences and knowledge that I have gained and continue on with my life. I will always make music on my own time and seek opportunities to play with others.

So again, thank you all for being a part of the best experience of my life. I will cherish the memories for as long as I live.
