De Capulet Breaks Up

September 17, 2006 By Caitlin Prince 7 Comments

De Capulet announced via MySpace Saturday night that they are officially broken up. Benn, formerly of the band, posted a bulletin around 11:15 PM, informing fans of his departure. Later in the night, JakobԚ posted a bulletin from theԚ DeԚ Capulet account, telling fans that he will continue writing and recording forԚ De CapuletԚ on his own. You can read his post onԚ the band’sԚ MySpace.

Pretty much the breakup of that band is tragic. So much potential, and its all wasted. If you talk to someone inside the situation (besides the two of them), Ben’s story is the one that’s real. Jake was a pompous jerk, and he left behind many friends and people who helped him become great. He tells many many many lies.

I know, they were one of my absolute favorites and they always seemed so genuine about everything. But yeah, I don’t know if you know them well of anything, but Ian, their manager, posted a bulletin later that night backing up everything that Benn had said. Personally, I believe it too; I find it sketchy that Jake disabled comments on both his personal page and the De Capulet page.

HAVE YOU SEEN THE PAGE?? Holy smokes, someone has balls. And you can bet it wasnt Jake, because he was planning on using the name that De Capulet created to make his personal name better. Keeping the same name after half the band left is downright low. And I don’t think it was Ben either, though I could be wrong. But thank god someone finally fixed that load of bull page. It just brings some justice around, ya know?

aha! I knew it! It was neither Jake nor Ben who changed the page. Because now it is back and reads that they had “a hacker problem”. So now it is back to being a Jake promotion page. I hate him.

dang ya’ll are harsh on them both..

i can remember back in the day when it was the other way around.. Jake being the sweet one and Mr. Mendehlson being the mean one… I know them both personally and i assure you that Jake is NOT a jerk. I dont know why he gets such bad light. He’s an amazing guy (i’ve known him & ben for several years).. but they’ve had other bands to break up, i dont know if any of you know about that but they did have Simple Youth, and it ended horribly because of nasty rumors that got spread around.

My guess is that they really did break up because of a fight or something then later worked it out and stayed together, but didnt want everyone to know that they had problems so they blamed it all on a hacker problem.

Ben is a computer genius so something of his/Jake’s getting hacked into seems VERY unlikely.

They know how to lie thats for sure. but I’m almost 100% positive that their stories DONT match up.

But they are staying together right now for the most part. i give it a year or less and they will be offically broke up. I love them to death but their egos are getting alittle to big for the both of them to handle.

maybe jakob will come out with something else after de capulet ends.

Wow I’m super-late on this one.
I thought this was fresh but when I came back to the computer, I saw it was from September of ’06!

I don’t want De Capulet to end, I just found them and they’re always the thing that keeps me happy and pumped to write good music and to STAY happy, spread happy.

    I love them!

    =[.
I hope they ultimately solve everything and just keep it up, they’ve got way too much potential and are too amazing to break up.

I loved De Capulet. They were and are my favourite band. I always thought the breakup was temporary but I guess it isn’t. What a waste of friendship and music =(
