We Shot The Moon Update

August 22, 2007 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

We Shot The Moon (previously The Honor Roll) featuring Jonathan Jones (ex. Waking Ashland), Joe Greenetz (Sherwood) and Dan Koch (Sherwood) have posted an update from the studio.

Studio 770 update 4

When in the studio time seems to be kind of non-exsistent. We went in today around 9:00am, got out, and it was dark. The day just kind of happened.

Things are going really well. The guitars should all be done by the end of the day tomorrow. I sang “Julie” today. It was kind of nerve racking. By that I mean, I have made a number of records now, but I tend to freak out and over analyze when it comes to recording voice. The voice is its on deal. I honestly don’t think I have ever left the vocal booth satisfied…today was no exception, but such is life. Michael(producer)thought we got great takes…either or, I will be relieved when the last song is sung.

Joe left us all today. He had to go back to Northern Cali to take care of Sherwood “Stuff”. I already miss the guy:(

I still have Dan for a couple more days though….poor Dan:)

Thanks for reading these updates. It means a lot to me.

Jonathan

Relient K Set To Release Full-Length Holiday Album

August 21, 2007 By Bryce Jacobson Leave a Comment

Relient K is heralding the holiday season in its own inimitable style with the release of their first-ever, full-length Christmas album: Let It Snow, Baby…Let It Reindeer. The album, scheduled for release by Capitol on October 23rd, features Relient K’s take on 10 holiday classics and six original songs.

From the glory of “Handel’s Messiah” and “Angels We Have Heard On High” to the goofiness of 1950’s novelty song “I’m Gettin’ Nuttin’ For Christmas” and “Santa Clause Is Thumbing To Town” (wherein Relient K imagines a Christmas full of catastrophes that reduce St. Nick to hitchhiking), Let It Snow, Baby…Let It Reindeer captures the many sides of the season. There’s elation (“I Celebrate The Day”) and depression (“I Hate Christmas Parties”), nods to “Boxing Day” and New Year’s Eve (“Auld Lang Syne” — with a new ending) and lots of old-fashioned fun along the way (“Deck The Halls,” “12 Days of Christmas,” “Sleigh Ride,” “We Wish You A Merry Christmas,” to name a few). The collection was produced by Mark Lee Townsend and Relient K vocalist, Matt Thiessen.

The band will launch a co-headlining tour with Switchfoot on October 16th in Charleston, WV

Track Listing

1. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
2. Sleigh Ride
3. Merry Christmas, Here’s To Many More
4. Angels We Have Heard On High
5. Deck The Halls
6. 12 Days of Christmas
7. Silent Night / Away In A Manger
8. I Celebrate The Day
9. In Like A Lion (Always Winter)
10. I’m Gettin’ Nuttin’ For Christmas
11. We Wish You A Merry Christmas
12. Santa Clause Is Thumbing To Town
13. Handel’s Messiah
14. I Hate Christmas Parties
15. Boxing Day
16. Auld Lang Syne (new ending)
17. Hidden Track

(tracks 3, 8, 9, 12, 14 and 15 are Relient K original compositions)
