This year’s CMJ Music Marathon starts tomorrow, so if you’re in the New York area be sure to attend. If you can’t make it, the complete lineup for each showcase is listed here. It’s a great opportunity to find some exciting new music.
Grace Period (Ex The Early November) have been forced to change their name. This comes as a shock to everyone and a big disappointment as their debut full length is set to be released next month. In celebration of the November release of The Anti-Matter Anthology, author Norman Brannon is having a benefit show rather than having an in-store book signing. On November 24th and 25th at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, Snapcase, who broke up in early 2005, will reunite for one night only. The show’s proceeds will go to benefit Callum Robbins, son of Jawbox frontman J. Robbins.
Ludo is putting together their video for “Love Me Dead” and they’re looking for as many fans possible to be in it. To participate in the video all you have to do is go to PureVolume, download the song, and film yourself singing along to it. The deadline is October 17th so submit your video today.
Relient K has posted a new song from their upcoming christmas album on their MySpace page.
To celebrate their new album and current tour with Senses Fail & New Found Glory, The Receiving End of Sirens have launched a “MAKE YOUR OWN VIDEO” contest. Choose a song, create your own treatment, make your set, and go crazy. The winner will have their video prominently placed on the TREOS Myspace, You Tube, and PureVolume pages.
Thrice are streaming the first two parts to their new album, The Alchemy Index Vols. I & II: Fire & Water, on their MySpace page. The album is due in stores this Tuesday October 16th.
