Circa Survive are streaming their new album, Violent Waves, over on Rollingstone.com. The album will be available for sale on the bands website for $5 starting on August 28th. The band is releasing this album on their own and the proceeds will go directly to them.
“By choosing to download our music directly from us, you are choosing to give our band a future and directly supporting us and our families,” vocalist Anthony Green wrote in a letter to fans.
The Wedding have signed with Tooth & Nail Records and will release their label debut No Direction on September 25th.
The Wedding first formed in 2008 and despite a few lineup changes, quickly created a stir with their soaring rock anthems. The band finally hit its stride with the addition of front man Matt Shelton (formerly of Island Records’ Letter Kills.)
On the album’s title, Shelton explains, “No Direction” means cutting ties with the idea that you can prepare your life in such a way to keep you from danger. As C.S. Lewis said, it’s an illusion of safety. We are meant to live life unabashed and free, and this can only happen in the face of danger; which to most is the idea of not knowing where you are going. It is when we have No Direction at all and still we press on, trusting that the great unknown will be our rescue and not the demise we are so fearful of. We went into making this record with complete reckless abandon. We tried to write the record that we wanted and needed to hear.”
“We are stoked to join the family at Tooth & Nail. It’s exciting to get to make the records we want to make with so many good friends,” says Shelton.
Consisting of 12 tracks, No Direction was produced by Jasen Rauch (Breaking Benjamin) at Harker House Studios in Springfield, TN, and features guest vocals by Dan Marsala of The Story Of The Year on the track “The Lesser Worth.” [Read more...]
Anberlin are streaming their new song “Self-Starter” exclusively over on billboard.com. The song is off the band’s new album, Vital, due out October 16th.
“When we started writing this record, I think we all kind of knew we had to change and really step out of our box and change it up,” drummer Nathan Young, primary composer of the musical end of “Self-Starter,” tells Billboard. “We’re a rock band, but we’ve got to progress with a sixth album. We wanted to keep it to that rock thing but just change it up.” Frontman Stephen Christian, meanwhile, says “Self-Starter” perfectly fit into the “vision” he had for the album.

The Early November are excited to announce their upcoming October headline tour. Beginning on October 5 in Danbury, CT, the tour will take in ten evenings in the Midwest and on the East coast of the U.S., including stops in Philadelphia, PA, on October 6, New York City on October 9, Cambridge, MA, on October 10 and Chicago, IL, on October 19. The Early November will be touring with special guests Cartel in support of its latest full-length album, In Currents, which was released by Rise Records on July 10.
“When we all sit around like old men, reminiscing about our favorite shows from the bands history, there’s always one common thread: they we’re always some of the smallest, sweatiest, most intimate shows of any given tour,” said guitarist Joseph Marro. “It’s how we saw our favorite bands growing up. I’ve had some of the most amazing nights of my life, packed into a church basement with 400 other kids going nuts for bands like Saves The Day or The Promise Ring. That was as big as bands got to us. So when The Early November started, that’s where the bar was set. If the things that excited you 10 years ago are still exciting you now, then they must be something truly special. That’s what this tour is all about.
The Early November will be making the following appearances throughout October with Cartel. Tour dates below.
